Geraldine Cardiel was born and raised in Mexico City. She holds a degree in Modern Dance from The Américas University in México and the Professional Studies Program from The Limón Institute in New York. From 1999 to 2002, she received grants from the Mexican Foundation for Culture and Arts (FONCA) and the Limón Institute to study and present her choreography in New York City. She is currenty studying to be a Feldenkrais practitioner.

In México she danced mainly with Lourdes Luna, Marcela Aguilar and Sunny Savoy. In 1999 she moved to New York where she had performed the work of Janis Brenner, Sue Bernhard, Alan Danielson, Tony Silva,Stephen Petronio –in a binational exchange between USA and México- among others.
