A young choreographer with a distinctive voice that The New York Times praised as “restrained and poetic,” Ms. Cardiel’s choreography has been produced in New York by Skirball Center for the Performing Arts as part of Mexico Now 2004, Joyce SoHo Presents, DanceNow Festival, Teatro La Tea as part of México Now 2005, The Local Produce Festival, Joyce SoHo 2005 y2008,Dance New Amsterdam as part of Mexico Now 2006 and The Limón Institute in 5 times . In México by Dharma Danza Contemporánea. Additionally, she has received several international awards: she was a finalist in both Mexico City’s XXIV Premio INBA/UAM Contemporary Choreography Competition (2003) and the Masdanza International Choreography Festival in the Canary Islands (2005). She lives and works in Brooklyn, New York.

    Capturing facets of the internal debate faced by many New Yorkers—particularly newcomers—about leaving or staying in the city, Should I stay or should I go! Is a nuanced portrait of the complexities of New York City living. Made possible in part through a space grant from Union Street Dance.

Commissioned by JPMorgan Chase and Skirball Center for the Performing Arts for the 2004 mexicoNOW festival, and a Finalist in the 2005 Masdanza International Choreography Competition.
